Prior to 2015, India had a few boxers who were trying their hand at Professional Boxing by contacting Managers and Promoters in Asia for individual fights on their cards. The Indian Boxing Council (IBC) was formed in 2015 as a Section 8, ‘Not for Profit’ Organisation under the Company’s Act 2013 of Government of India. The Technical Operations Commission of the IBC is responsible for the actual conduct of the entire fight card sanctioned by the IBC. Supervisors for IBC Contests are nominated by the Technical Operations Commission. This commission shall keep a strict control and supervise all contests sanctioned by the IBC, ensuring that they are carried out in an appropriate manner and in accordance with rules and regulations of the championships of IBC.
