Indrajeet Keer Boxing Club

Indrajeet Keer Boxing Club (IKBC) is a renowned boxing club that has been providing high-quality boxing training to students since 2010. Located in Palghar District’s Youngstar Indoor Sports Club, the club was founded by Indrajeet Keer, a former Maharashtra Amateur Boxer who had a passion for the sport and wanted to share his expertise with others.

The club started as a typical old school boxing club in Virar. Over the years, however, IKBC has grown to become one of the best boxing clubs in the region, with over 50 regular students. While some of the students are training to be professional boxers, many others are training for boxing fitness programs.

Indrajeet Keer’s journey as a boxer started when he was inspired by the Rocky series to take up boxing as a career. He had his first lesson at a 7-day boxing camp in Virar in 2002, conducted by an Indian Army ex-captain. After attending various camps for 4 years, he joined the competitive Savarkar Boxing Club in Dadar West, where he fought over 30 bouts, won his first Mumbai District Gold in 2007, and qualified for the Maharashtra State Boxing Championship 2009 in the welterweight category.

In 2010, he joined the late Shri Abhay Mhasurkar to upgrade his game, fighting more than 20 bouts under him and winning a district gold at the Thane District Association’s Boxing Championship in 2014. With his vast experience and passion for the sport, Indrajeet decided to become a coach and help others achieve their goals.

As a coach, Indrajeet renamed Jaw Breaking Boxing Club to IKBC after the Thane District Boxing Association issued an affiliation certificate. His coaching skills and dedication have led to numerous success stories at IKBC. His first student, Bhavesh Shah, won the Youth State Boxing Championship Bronze Medal in 2012, while Kashif Khatri won Palghar District’s first-ever Elite Men’s Age Category Medal at the 2016 Maharashtra State Boxing Championship. The club also had its first national gold medalist, Vanshika Bhargava, at the SGFI School Games in 2019, and Tabish Shaikh became the club’s first international title winner in Pro MMA in 2019. Over the past 12 years, more than 150 of his boxers have become district champions, and more than 2000 people have trained at IKBC.
