Chandru G Vs Jaskaran Singh - WBC India Cruiserweight
Pro Boxing Fight Night Hyderabad - Chandru G, WBC India National Title Fight Champion

20 May 2024, Hyderabad: Tamil Nadu’s rising Boxing star, Chandru G, clinched the WBC India National title fight in the Cruiserweight Division with a spectacular 4th round knockout victory over Punjab’s Jaskaran Singh.

Entering the fight with a flawless record of 10-0, 27 year old Chandru initially had a slow start, allowing Jaskaran Singh (9-3) to leverage his height and reach advantage. However, by the second round, Chandru began to dominate, landing heavy three-punch combinations and right crosses. In the decisive 4th round, a powerful Left hook from Chandru hit Jaskaran square in the face, sending him crashing to the ropes. Referee Kevin David halted the fight at 1:13 of the 4th round, declaring Chandru the winner by knockout.

I am incredibly honoured and thrilled to win the WBC India Cruiserweight Title. This victory is not just for me, but for the whole of Tamil Nadu, for my coach B. Rajnikanth and Abarna from MABC, my family, and all my supporters who have stood by me throughout this journey. Jaskaran Singh is a formidable opponent, and a very hard puncher. But training over the past 40 days paid off. I hope this win inspires more boxers from Tamil Nadu to start making a move to Pro Boxing. This is just the beginning, I have a possible shot at the WBC Asian title in the coming few months. Thank you to everyone who believed in me.”
