Dona Paula, Goa — The shores of Goa witnessed a landmark moment in Indian professional boxing on December 20, 2025, as Susegado Strike hosted its “Fight Night IV.” For the first time in the sports’ history in India, the International Centre Goa (ICG) lawns served as the battleground for three IBC India Championship titles on a single card.

In a move that solidifies the growing legitimacy of the Indian circuit, these titles have been officially recognized and recorded on BoxRec, the global authority for professional boxing records.

The anniversary edition, organized by promoters Prathamesh Naik, Luigson Fernandes, and Clyde Lobo, delivered a high-octane mix of local triumph and shocking upsets, proving that professional boxing has found a permanent and passionate home in the sunshine state.

Panda Prevails in Featherweight War

The night’s main event saw local hero Pralhad Panda cement his status as a national force. Facing Hyderabad’s Vinod Vantedu in a 10-round Featherweight title bout, Panda showcased the grit and technical precision that have become his trademarks. Despite a clash of styles that kept the fans on the edge of their seats, Panda controlled the tempo and range throughout.

At the end of ten grueling rounds, the judges were unanimous in their verdict, crowning Panda the IBC National Featherweight Champion. The victory was a crowning achievement for Panda, who credited his coach, Praveen Shirodkar, for preparing him for the biggest fight of his career.

Shock at the ICG: Vanlalenkawltira Silences the Crowd

Vanlalenkawltira IBC India Champion

The atmosphere shifted from jubilation to stunned silence during the Super Flyweight title clash. Home favorite Kailas Gauns took on the explosive Vanlalenkawltira of Mizoram in a fight many expected to go the distance.

However, the Mizo powerhouse had other plans. In a display of raw power, Vanlalenkawltira dropped Gauns three times in the second round. Following the third knockdown, the referee was forced to wave off the contest, awarding Vanlalenkawltira a 2nd Round TKO victory. The defeat of the local star was a sobering reminder of the “any given Sunday” nature of professional boxing, as Vanlalenkawltira took the IBC belt back to Aizawl.

Dilshad Dominates for Middleweight Championship

In the third title bout of the evening, Bangalore’s Md Dilshad faced off against Midhun A of Kerala for the vacant IBC Middleweight crown. Dilshad’s superior footwork and relentless pressure began to tell by the middle rounds. Seeing their fighter overwhelmed and unable to respond effectively, Midhun’s corner made the difficult decision to throw in the towel at the beginning of the 6th round, handing Dilshad a TKO victory.

Undercard Action and Growth

Beyond the title fights, the event featured four additional bouts that highlighted the depth of talent emerging in the Indian professional ranks:

  • Akanksha Singh secured a unanimous decision over Lakshmi M Gireesh.
  • Asad Asif Khan defeated Ashish Kumar via UD in an 8-round Super Featherweight contest.
  • Raj Sahiba claimed a hard-fought win over Gazal Maria Mathew.
  • Arshdeep Singh Batth delivered a clinical 2nd-round knockout against Shijo Shaji in the Heavyweight division.

IBC Chief Operations Officer Vivek Raja lauded the promoters for their vision, noting that hosting three title fights on one night is a massive leap forward for the sport in India. As the belts were raised under the Goa stars, one thing was clear: Susegado Strike has moved professional boxing in India into a new era of professionalism and prestige.
