28 Sep 2022, Bangkok: Indian Boxer Shiva Thakran, will fight Adli Hafidz of Malaysia for the 10 Round WBC Asian Super Middleweight Title at Spaceplus Club Bangkok later today.

Since turning professional in 2016, Indian Boxer Shiva (15-3, 7 KOs) has had a good run in the nascent Indian pro boxing circuit. Widely, regarded to be more of a technical boxer rather than being a hard hitter, Shiva, can certainly claim to be amongst the senior most Indian Professional Boxers in the country.

His previous 3 losses, date back to 2017 ( 2 UD’s and 1 KO), and were against strong and much more superior opponents away from home in Australia, Hongkong and Tanzania.

The covid induced lockdowns and restrictions have had an effect on Shiva, as he had to sit out and watch while his peers in the global circuit have gained considerable experience in the past 3 years.

His opponent, Adli Hafidz, aged 25, from Malaysia, is unbeaten in his previous 10 fights and is also a former South East Asian Games medallist in the amateurs.

In March of 2019, Hafidz, surprised a lot of people by coming off the floor to stop Bambang Rusiadi in five rounds to win a WBC regional title.
